WELCOME!
John has a new Suburban Blues song about a fall from grace, "IT'S A LONG FALL". White collar crime has been in the newspapers a lot recently and high profile people have taken a fall and "IT'S A LONG FALL" tells the tale. John had a warm and enthusiastic reception at the Lake Toxaway Community Center in North Carolina on Friday May5th. Every Friday night the Lake Toxaway community serves supper followed by great pickin' and singin'. There are some outstanding pickers in that community. John sat in with the locals and did his original "The Brave Young Boys" and received a standing ovation, the only one of the evening. The patriotic theme of the song was perfect for the Memorial Day weekend. If you are in the Cashers area do yourself a favor and visit the Lake Toxaway Community center on Friday night. What a great evening at The Alabama Booksmith on Wednesday May 9th. At the ivitation of the best booksmith in the South, or for that matter anywhere, Jake Reiss, John played songs written songwritter and author Bobby Braddock during his apperance and signing his new book "DOWN IN ORBURNDALE, A songwriter's youth in old Florida". Who you may ask is Bobby Braddock? He has only written, along with Curly Putnam, maybe the be greatest country song ever "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and many others including, "Golden Ring", "D-I-V-O-R-C-E". What a great and generous guy. John enjoyed a warm and enthusiastic reception at Writers' Night hosted by Debbie Champion at the Commodore Lounge in Nashville on Tuesday January 16th. John did 3 of his new songs: The Highway, You Can't Stop Leaving Me Alone, and I'm Not Ready to Forget You. John received a warm and enthusiastic response from the attendees at the Alabama Law Institute's Probate Judges Conference in Tuscaloosa. What a great crowd and a fun evening. The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in Orange Beach was again great fun. It is always fun to play for audiences that are there purely to listen to the music. Reneda and her staff do a great job. Do your self a favor and plan on attending next year. John played at the Orientation Dinner for the Alabama Legislature in Tuscaloosa. A great honor and lots of fun. John enjoyed playing at The University of Alabama for Homecoming on the plaza at the School of Law for the pregame brunch. ROLL TIDE!!
